Thank you for stopping by our website. The Campsie Glen Woodland became a Community Interest Company in June 2021. Our hope is to keep this magical oasis for the community to use and for future generations to enjoy.
The Campsie Glen Woodland is a 32-acre hitherto largely unmanaged site with waterfalls, exposed geology, mature woodland and plantation trees, and areas of bracken and grassland, which has recently been acquired by The Campsie Glen CiC. The land also includes the ‘Car Park in The Sky’.
While frequented by Glasgwegians as a beauty spot, the Woodland’s potential for educating visitors is almost entirely untapped, demonstrated for example by general littering. We hope to engage with people locally and further afield to connect people with the land and each other. We’ll be doing this through community events such litter picking and species identification days. We also plan to run Forest School programmes, outdoor playgroup, schools groups and sessions for recovery and mental health.
